Bradley Cooper will play Lucifer in a movie version of the John Milton’s Paradise Lost, according to a report in The Associated Press. Alex Proyas will direct the project.
Milton’s epic poem retells the story of the temptation of Adam and Eve by Satan and their ultimate expulsion from the Garden of Eden.
Cooper has appeared on Broadway opposite Julia Roberts in Richard Greenberg’s Three Days of Rain and in the Williamstown Theatre Festival production of The Understudy.
Cooper’s many film credits include Wedding Crashers, Valentine’s Day, The A-Team, and Limitless, as well as The Hangover movies. He also starred in the TV series Alias opposite Jennifer Garner and Victor Garber.
