Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Dano, Alfre Woodard Set for Twelve Years a Slave Film

Stage veterans Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Dano, Paul Giamatti, Sarah Paulson, and Alfre Woodard have joined the film cast of Twelve Years a Slave, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Steve McQueen will direct the film.

This adaptation of Solomon Northup’s autobioraphical novel, which centers on a free black man who becomes enslaved, will star Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael Fassbender, and Brad Pitt.


McQueen recently directed Shame, which starred Fassbender and Carey Mulligan.
