David Beach and Colin McPhillamy will star in the U.S. premiere of Ying Tong – A Walk With the Goons by Roy Smiles at The Wilma Theater, February 13-March 16. Directed by Jiri Zizka, the production will also star Steven Beckingham and Ed Jewett.

BBC’s famous radio series The Goon Show aired 1951-1960, and their comedy has greatly influenced Monty Python, the Beatles, and Tom Stoppard, among others. In Ying Tong, Smiles delves into the mind of Goon writer Spike Milligan whose mind cracks from the strain of creating comic genius, and his fellow Goons must scramble to save his sanity.

Beach most recently performed in Opus at Primary Stages, and his Broadway credits include Mamma Mia, Urinetown (original Broadway and off-Broadway cast), and Moon Over Buffalo. Colin McPhillamy spent five seasons with The Royal National Theatre, and has extensive West End, regional, and TV credits.
