August Strindberg Repertory Theatre and Negro Ensemble Company are set to present Playing with Fire by August Strindberg, May 18-June 10 at New School for Drama. Robert Greer will direct.
The play, which has been newly adapted by executive director of Negro Ensemble Company Leslie Lee from a translation by Ulrika Brand, will be presented with an all-black cast as the inaugural production of August Strindberg Repertory Theatre. In the play, a writer named Axel visits his best friends, Kerstin and Knut, at their summer house where he finds himself involved in a love triangle within a love triangle within a love triangle.
The cast will feature James Edward Becton, Jaleesa Capri, Toccarra Cash, Elizabeth Flax, Jolie Garrett, and Nathan James.
The design team will include Angelina Margolis (set design), Miriam Crowe (lighting design), Lora Jackson (costume design).
