Annette Bening and more will award grants to young writers.
Audiobook company Audible has announced a $5 million fund to commission new audio works from rising playwrights, the New York Times reports. The solo or duo plays will begin to be available later this year.
The advisory board deciding grant recipients will be made up of actor Annette Bening, playwrights Lynn Nottage, Tom Stoppard, and David Henry Hwang, directors Trip Cullman and Leigh Silverman, and artistic directors Oskar Eustis and Mimi O'Donnell.
Additional information, including titles and selected playwrights, are still to be announced.
