Hayley Atwell and Clare Higgins will join Simon Russell Beale in Nicholas Hytner’s revival of George Bernard Shaw’s 1905 classic Major Barbara, to begin performances at London’s National Theatre on February 26.

Higgins, who will play Lady Britomart, has won Laurence Olivier Awards for Sweet Bird of Youth, Vincent in Brixton and Hecuba. Her other stage credits include Death of a Salesman, The Night of the Iguana, and Phaedra. Atwell, who will play Barbara, appeared earlier this year at the National in Hytner’s production of The Man of Mode.

Beale, who will play Andrew Undershaft, has previously appeared at the National in The Alchemist, The Life of Galileo, Volpone, Candide, and Hamlet, and is currently appearing there in Much Ado About Nothing opposite Zoe Wanamaker. He has appeared on Broadway and the West End in Monty Python’s Spamalot and Jumpers, and starred in the Donmar Warehouse productions of Uncle Vanya and Twelfth Night, which also played at BAM.
