Arkin, Luker, McMartin, Payton-Wright, et al. Set for Gurney’s Indian Blood

Matthew Arkin, Rebecca Luker, John McMartin, and Pamela Payton-Wright will star in A.R. Gurney’s coming-of-age comedy Indian Blood, which will receive its world premiere at Primary Stages, July 25-September 2. The production, to be directed by Mark Lamos, will open officially on August 9.

The cast will also include Jeremy Blackman, Jack Gilpin, Katherine McGrath, and Charles Socarides. Gurney’s previous plays include The Dining Room, Sylvia, and Love Letters. Lamos recently directed the Broadway productions of Seascape and The Rivals. The show’s creative team has yet to be announced.

Arkin has starred on Broadway in the revival of The Sunshine Boys; his Off-Broadway credits include Men of Clay, Moonlight and Magnolias, and Dinner With Friends. Luker is a two-time Tony Award nominee for Show Boat and The Music Man and will begin a three-week engagement at Feinstein’s at the Regency on May 9. McMartin is a five-time Tony nominee, having starred in such musicals as Sweet Charity, High Society, Show Boat, and Into the Woods. He is currently appearing in Grey Gardens, for which he has received a Drama Desk nomination. Payton-Wright has appeared in more than a dozen Broadway shows, including revivals of The Crucible, The Night of the Iguana, and Long Day’s Journey Into Night.
