Service men and women were treated to dinner and a show in Washington, D.C.
Washington, D.C.'s Arena Stage celebrated its sixth annual Military Thanksgiving on Friday, November 25, coinciding with the opening-night festivities for Lookingglass Theatre's Moby Dick, a coproduction with the Alliance Theatre, and South Coast Repertory Theatre.
In gratitude for the service of D.C.-area military, Arena Stage invited wounded warriors, service men and women, and their families to a complimentary Thanksgiving dinner and performance of the Rodgers & Hammerstein musical Carousel, which is currently running on the Fichandler Stage. Since the first Military Thanksgiving in 2011, Arena Stage has served over 1,000 military members and their families with the annual event.
The opening night reception for Moby Dick, directed and adapted by David Catlin, followed later that evening with the cast and crew on hand to celebrate. The production is set to run through December 24 in the Kreeger Theater.
