Ojai’s Theater 150 is set to present the West Coast premiere of Jennifer Haley’s Breadcrumbs, July 9-24. Jessica Kubzansky will direct.
Starring Anne Gee Byrd and Brook Masters, the play probes the relationship between two very different women. Alida, a reclusive fiction writer who is diagnosed with dementia, must depend upon Beth, a troubled young caretaker, to complete her autobiography. In a battle of wills, the two delve in the dark woods of Alida’s past, unearthing a secret tragedy that shatters their notions of language, loneliness, and essential self.
The production will feature set design by Susan Gratch, lighting design by Jeremy Pivnick, costume design by Madeline Mikkelson, and original music and sound design by Bruno Louchouarn.
