Director Anne Bogart and her SITI Company have announced their 2009-2010 New York season, with all events taking place at Dance Theater Workshop.
The season will kick off with the world premiere of Jocelyn Clarke’s contemporary rewriting of Sophocles’ Antigone (October 28-November 1), featuring original music by Christian Fredrickson, lighting design by Brian H Scott, and a cast including Akiko Aizawa (Ismene), Will Bond (Chorus), Barney O’Hanlon (Guard), Leon Ingulsrud (Haemon), Tom Nelis (Tireseus), Makela Spielman (Antigone), and Stephen Webber (Creon).
The other main presentation in the season will be a revival of Charles L. Mee’s bobrauschenbergamerica (April 22-May 16), featuring Akiko Aizawa (Phil’s girl), J. Ed Araiza (Becker), Will Bond (Allen), Gian Murray Gianino (Pizza boy), Leon Ingulsrud (Phil), Ellen Lauren (Susan), Kelly Maurer (Bob’s mom), and Barney O’Hanlon (Carl). Set and costume design will be by James Schuette, with lighting by Brian H Scott and sound by Darron L West.
In addition, starting in November, Bogart and members of SITI will give five monthly public presentations, SITI Company Mondays @ DTW, focusing on the creative process, methods and repertoire of the ensemble. The series is scheduled on November 23, December 14, January 25, February 15, and March 8 at 7:30pm.
