American Son Opens on Broadway Tonight

American Son opens tonight at the Booth Theatre, marking the Broadway debut of playwright Christopher Demos-Brown. The production began preview performances October 6.

The brand-new drama is described as follows: "A Florida police station in the middle of the night; a mother searching for her missing teenage son. American Son is a gripping tale of two parents caught in our national divide, with their worst fears hanging in the balance." The play made its world premiere at Barrington Stage Company in 2016.

Directed by Tony winner Kenny Leon, the cast stars Kerry Washington, Steven Pasquale, Jeremy Jordan, and Eugene Lee. The creative team includes Derek McLane (scenic design), Dede Ayite (costume design), Peter Kaczorowski (lighting design), and Peter Fitzgerald (sound design).
