The Tony winner makes her long-awaited return to Broadway this fall.
Tony Award winner Lea Salonga was honored on September 15 by Ambassador Mario L. De Leon Jr., Consul General of the Philippines, upon her return to Broadway in the new musical Allegiance.
Joining the group of 50 invited guests were Allegiance producers Lorenzo Thione and Andrew Treagus, coauthor Jay Kuo, as well as Salonga's costar and leading man, George Takei, who makes his Broadway debut in the show and whose life inspired the show.
Salonga won a Tony for her performance in the original production of Miss Saigon. She has also been seen in the original and revival productions of Les Misérables and in the 2002 revival of Flower Drum Song.
Performances of Allegiance are set to begin at the Longacre Theatre on October 6 in advance of an official November 8 opening. For tickets and more information, click here.
