February 16, 2010

Actors’ Equity Association, the national union of professional stage actors and stage managers, has reached a new agreement with the Off-Broadway League, the trade association representing commercial and non-profit Off-Broadway theaters and productions. The new three-year contract will extend to November 4, 2012.

The agreement includes salary increases, an expanded ability to use recorded material in new media outlets, and required replacement auditions for long running shows. There are also revised rules in regards to producing shows in Off-Broadway-sized houses of 499 or less, and actors who leave productions for more remunerative employment.
