Ivo van Hove's new West End revival of Arthur Miller's A View From the Bridge, starring Mark Strong (The Imitation Game), will be broadcast to cinemas around the world starting March 26 via National Theatre Live. Dates will vary at venues internationally and encore screenings will follow.
Strong leads the cast of the 1955 drama as Eddie Carbone, alongside Nicola Walter as Beatrice, Phoebe Fox as Catherine, Michael Gould as Alfieri, Emun Elliott as Marco, Richard Hansell as Louis, and Luke Norris as Rodolpho. The production features sets and lighting by Jan Versweyveld, with costumes by An D'Huys, and sound by Tom Gibbons.
This version of A View From the Bridge premiered at London's Young Vic in April 2014, before beginning a West End run at Wyndham's Theatre on February 10.
A View From the Bridge tells the story of Eddie Carbone, a Brooklyn longshoreman whose life unravels as when he welcomes a pair of his Sicilian cousins to America. This drama was last seen on Broadway in 2010, with a cast led by Liev Schreiber, Jessica Hecht, and a Tony-winning Scarlett Johansson. A 2009 West End revival, directed by Lindsay Posner, starred Ken Stott, Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, and Hayley Atwell.
