A Galaxy of Stars

This week, the casts of some upcoming Broadway shows met the press. Here are Exit The King‘s William Sadler, Lauren Ambrose, Geoffrey Rush, Susan Sarandon, Andrea Martin, and Brian Hutchison.

Tony Award winners Joan Allen and Jeremy Irons are making long-awaited returns to Broadway in Michael Jacobs’ new play Impressionism.

Irena’s Vow star Tovah Feldshuh posed with playwright Dan Gordon and director Michael Parva.

On Sunday night, Lin-Manuel Miranda played his last performance as Usnavi in the Tony-winning musical In the Heights. After the show, he celebrated with his successor in the role, Javier Munoz.

Priscilla Lopez, one of the musical’s stars, was joined by her husband, Vincent Fanuele, and son Alex.

Olga Merediz, who plays Abuela, caught up at the party with Karen Olivo, who originated the role of Vanessa and is now playing Anita in the revival of West Side Story.

Broadway Bears XII, the annual auction for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, was also held on Sunday at B.B. King’s. Here’s the evening’s host, Bryan Batt, with a special bear from Cats, in which he starred on Broadway.

Michael Cerveris, who’s currently starring in the Roundabout’s revival of Hedda Gabler, showed off the bear (and pinball machine) from The Who’s Tommy, in which he played the title role.

Kerry Butler playfully posed with the Kira bear from her hit show Xanadu.

Original Avenue Q star Ann Harada was on hand to showcase the musical’s Christmas Eve bear.

South Pacific star Loretta Ables Sayre showed off the Nellie Forbush bear.

Kerry O’Malley, with the bear from her show, Irving Berlin’s White Christmas, was another happy participant.

Finally, here’s the boys of Billy Elliot with their bears: Kiril Kulish, David Alvarez, and Trent Kowalik.
