The 1995 television film adaptation of Bye Bye Birdie will be added to BroadwayHD today.

The Emmy-winning film, directed by Gene Saks, features Jason Alexander and Vanessa Williams as Albert and Rosie, Marc Kudisch as Conrad Birdie, Chynna Phillips as Kim, Tyne Daly as Mae, and Sally Mayes and George Wendt as the MacAfees.

First presented on Broadway in 1960, Bye Bye Birdie features a book by Michael Stewart, music by Charles Strouse, and lyrics by Lee Adams. Set in 1958, the story was inspired by rock 'n' roll stars like Elvis Presley and features a song list that includes "Bye Bye Birdie" and "Put on a Happy Face."
