The change is the result of a development project for Dumbo that was approved by the New York City Council on Wednesday. St. Ann’s will have two more seasons in its current location, and the Times reports that artistic director Susan Feldman (who supported the vote for the development project) will be scouting for new locations both in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
St. Ann’s first home was the Church of St. Ann in Brooklyn Heights. It relocated to its current location in 2001 and has since housed such productions as National Theatre of Scotland’s Black Watch, Mabou Mines’ Dollhouse, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre’s Measure for Measure, several Wooster Group shows, and most recently, Cynthia Hopkins’ The Success of Failure (Or, The Failure of Success).
