John Getz, Shirley Knight, Joey Slotnick, et al. Set for Elevator Movie

Stage veterans John Getz, Shirley Knight, and Joey Slotnick will co-star in the new suspense film Elevator. Stig Svendsen is directing the project, which has a screenplay by Marc Rosenberg.

The movie focuses on nine strangers who find themselves trapped high above Manhattan with someone who has a bomb. The cast also features Devin Ratray, Waleed Zuaiter, Christopher Backus, Anita Briem, Tehmina Sunny, Michael Mercurio, and twins Amanda and Rachel Pace.

Getz’s stage credits include Top Secret Off-Broadway and The Good Book of Pedantry and Wonder in Los Angeles. On screen, he can currently be seen in The Social Network.

Knight won a Tony Award for her performance in Kennedy’s Children. Her other Broadway credits include Horton Foote’s The Young Man From Atlanta and Lee Strasberg’s revival of The Three Sisters in 1964. Knight also earned Academy Award nominations for her work in The Dark at the Top of the Stairs and Sweet Bird of Youth.

Slotnick appeared in Ethan Coen’s Almost and Evening and Offices, and his other credits include Animal Crackers and Our Town.
