Irish Actor Mick Lally Dies at 64

Irish actor Mick Lally, who helped found the Druid Theater, has died at age 64, according to The New York Times.

Among Lally’s many stage credits were Druid’s productions of Playboy of the Western World, A Skull in Connemara, and DruidSynge, as well as the Field Day Theater Company’s production of Brian Friel’s Translations.

His film and television credits include Glenroe, The Secret of Roan Inish, Circle of Friends and The Secret of Kells.

He is survived by his wife, Peige; his parents, May and Tommy; a brother, Tomas; five sisters, Teresa, Marie, Sarah, Nuala and Rita; and three children, Saileog, Darach, and Mahgnus.
