Emile Hirsch, who recently appeared on the big screen as Cleve Jones in Milk, will star in a new film adaptation of Hamlet, according to Variety. Catherine Hardwicke is set to direct.
According to the trade publication, the film will be set in contemporary America and feature a screenplay by Ron Nyswaner.
Hirsch is also featured in Taking Woodstock, due out in cinemas in August, with other film credits including The Air I Breathe and Into the Wild. He also voiced the title role in Speed Racer.
