The recording of Barbra Streisand’s September 26, 2009 performance at the Village Vanguard now has a title: One Night Only – Barbra Streisand And Quartet At The Village Vanguard -September 26, 2009, and it will be released on May 4 as a DVD and DVD/CD Combo Pack as well as Blu-Ray Disc by Sony Music.
Streisand’s rare New York City performance celebrated the release of her then new album of jazz standards and classics Love Is The Answer. In the concert and on the recording, Streisand offered such numbers as “Here’s To Life,” “In The Wee Small Hours of the Morning,” “Gentle Rain,” “Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most,” “If You Go Away (Ne Me Quitte Pas),” “Where Do You Start?,” “Nobody’s Heart (Belongs to Me), “Make Someone Happy,” “My Funny Valentine,” “Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered,” “Evergreen (Love Theme from A Star Is Born),” “Some Other Time,” and “The Way We Were.”
The DVD and Blu-ray disc include as a bonus, a feature on the club and its legendary owner Lorraine Gordon. The new One Night Only CD will be a limited edition available only in the DVD/CD Combo Pack.
