Ghost the Musical to Open on Broadway in April

Ghost the Musical will open on Broadway at a Nederlander theater to be announced in April 2012. Matthew Warchus, who has staged the show in London, will direct the production, which will be choreographed by Ashley Wallen.

With music and lyrics by Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard, and a book by Bruce Joel Rubin, the show is based on the movie of the same name and tells the story of a man who is trapped as a ghost between this world and the next and who is trying to communicate with his girlfriend through a phony psychic in the hope of saving her from his murderer. Casting will be announced in the near future.

The creative team will include scenic and costume designer Rob Howell, lighting designer Hugh Vanstone, and projection designer Jon Driscoll, along with Paul Kieve, who has created illusions for the show.
