Colin Hanlon, Brian d’Arcy James, Kerry O’Malley, Anika Noni Rose, et al. Set for Powerhouse’s On a Clear Day; Bonfire Night Casting Announced

Heather Ayers, Saum Eskandani, Constantine Germanacos, Colin Hanlon, Kendal Hartse, Brian d’Arcy James, Paul O’Brien, Kerry O’Malley, Zach Prince, Anika Noni Rose, Sarah Stiles, David Turner, and Lori Wilner will star in a concert workshop of On a Clear Day You Can See Forever, to be presented as part of Vassar & New York Stage and Film’s Powerhouse Theater summer season, July 29-August 1.

As previously reported, Tony Award winner Michael Mayer will direct this reincarnation of Alan Jay Lerner’s and Burton Lane’s musical, with a new book by Peter Parnell. This new version, which has the approval of the Lerner and Lane estates, will reportedly play around with gender and reimagine the show’s central love triangle.

In related news, casting has also been announced for Bonfire Night, to be presented as a concert reading, July 16-18. Featuring book, music, and lyrics by Justin Levine, the musical was inspired by the true events of the 1605 Gunpowder Plot and the legendary radical Guy Fawkes. Alex Timbers will direct a cast that includes include John Ellison Conlee, Pierce Cravens, Greg Hildreth, Santino Fontana, Desmond Green, Michael Izquierdo, Robert Petkoff, Charlie Pollack, Devere Rogers, David Rossmer, Ian Unterman, and Jonathan B. Wright.
