The Little Orchestra Society has announced its 2014-15 season of classics and new productions for audiences of all ages. The family-friendly concerts will be presented in several New York City performance spaces. This season includes a world premiere of the Happy Concerts series and two new productions in the Lolli-Pops Concerts series for children ages 3-5. The new season will also include Little Orchestra Society's first concert at the Brooklyn Academy of Music.

The Happy Concerts series begins with the world premiere of Four Seasons: A Spinning Planet, which combines classical music, modern dance, and ballet, on November 22 at New York City Center. Suitable for ages 6-12, the concert will be conducted by James Judd and directed and choreographed Karole Armitage.

Next will be Sergei Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf on December 27 at BAM's Howard Gilman Opera House. This concert will also feature works from other great Russian composers, including Stravinsky, Shostakovich and Kabalevsky.

Last in the series is Cinderella and the Prince Who Slays the Magic Dragon on April 25 at Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall. The larger-than-life production of the classic fairy tale is set to the music of Sergei Prokofiev and features dancers, puppets, a 15-foot-tall fairy godmother, and a 20-foot-long magic dragon.

The Lolli-Pops Concerts for Children series features three shows conducted by James Judd: Circus Parade on October 25 and 26, Things That Go Bang! on February 7 and 8, and Lolli-Pops: World Tour on March 7 and 8. Guest conductor Sameer Patel will be on hand for Tubby and Tuba on November 15 and 16. All Lolli-Pops Concerts take place at the Kaye Playhouse at Hunter College.
