Julie Taymor to Direct New Bio-Film About Gloria Steinem, Written by Sarah Ruhl
The movie will be based on Steinem's memoir My Life on the Road.
Playwright Sarah Ruhl (For Peter Pan on her 70th birthday) will pen the screenplay for a new film about the life of legendary activist Gloria Steinem. Julie Taymor (M. Butterfly) has been tapped to direct.
Based on Steinem's memoir My Life on the Road, the film will be produced by Taymor and Lynn Hendee, Deadline reports, alongside Andrew Duncan and Alex Saks of June Pictures.
Taymor's film credits include Across the Universe, Titus, and Frida. Ruhl's plays include The Clean House, In the Next Room, and Eurydice, among others.
