The dramatists Dominique Morisseau and Branden Jacobs-Jenkins were honored with the 2015 Steinberg Playwright Awards on Monday, November 16, at Lincoln Center Theater.

The Steinberg Playwright Awards' mission is to promote theater as a vital part of our culture by nurturing American playwrights and encouraging the development and production of new American plays.

Morisseau's plays include Detroit '67, Sunset Baby, and Skeleton Crew, which will play off-Broadway's Atlantic Theater Company in early 2016. Jacobs-Jenkins is the author of An Octoroon, Gloria, and the upcoming War, which begins its New York run on May 21 at LCT3's Claire Tow Theater.
