Pam MacKinnon will direct David Bar Katz’s The Atmosphere of Memory, to run October 15-November 13 at the LAByrinth Theater Company’s new home at the Bank Street Theatre.

The play enters on a playwright who has written a play about his family life and who finds that his actual mother has been cast to play his mother and that his estranged father remember events differently than they are depicted in the script.

MacKinnon won an Obie Award for her direction of Clybourne Park. Among her other recent credits are Smudde, A Lifetime Burning, Edward Albee’s The Occupant, and The Four of Us. She is currently represented by Completeness at Playwrights Horizons.

The creative team will include scenic designer David Gallo, costume designer Emily Rebholz, lighting designer Dans Sheehan, and sound designer Brendan Connelly.
