American baritone Nathan Gunn and pianist Julie Gunn will be the 2013 Artists in Residence at The Glimmerglass Festival, under the artistic direction of Francesca Zambello. The Central New York summer opera and musical theater company has also announced its 2013 season. The productions will run in repertory July 6 through August 24 in the Alice Busch Opera Theater.

Richard Wagner’s The Flying Dutchman will be directed by Zambello and conducted by John Keenan. Jay Hunter Morris will sing the role of the huntsman Erik, with Melody Moore as Senta, Ryan McKinny as The Dutchman, and Peter Volpe as Daland.

Lerner and Loewe’s musical Camelot will feature Nathan Gunn as Lancelot, with David Pittsinger as of King Arthur and Andriana Churchman as Guenevere. Gary Griffin will direct, with Kevin Stites as conductor.

Verdi’s King for a Day (Un giorno di regno) will be directed by Christian Räth and conducted by Joseph Colaneri. Jason Hardy will sing the Baron Kelbar, and the production will be presented in a new English adaptation by Kelley Rourke.

Passions is a double bill of David Lang’s The Little Match Girl Passion — directed by Zambello, conducted by David Moody and incorporating a children’s chorus — and Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, directed and choreographed by Jessica Lang, conducted by Speranza Scappucci, and starring Anthony Roth Costanzo and Nadine Sierra.
