Corey Fogelmanis, Elizabeth Gillies, Jason Butler Harner to Star in Rope Off-Broadway

The New Group has announced an off-Broadway run of Rope, a new adaptation by Gordon Greenberg of Patrick Hamilton’s play, which inspired the Alfred Hitchcock film of the same title.

Directed by Scott Elliott, this world-premiere production will star Corey Fogelmanis, Elizabeth Gillies, Jason Butler Harner, Cameron Monaghan, Graham Phillips, and James Waterston.

In Rope, Garrett Stern (Monaghan) and Nate Singer (Fogelmanis) are two beautiful, brilliant, and dangerously bored Princeton graduate students who throw a dinner party in their chic Turtle Bay apartment—with the body of their murder victim hidden inside a trunk.

The creative team includes scenic designer Derek McLane, costume designer Catherine Zuber, lighting designer Jeff Croiter, and sound designer Leah Gelpe. Intimacy and fight direction is by UnkleDave’s Fight-House. Valerie A. Peterson is the production stage manager.

Rope will run October 13-December 6 at the Theatre at St. Clement’s.
