Lisa Loeb’s Musical Camp Kappawanna to Debut in Florida This Summer

Grammy nominee Lisa Loeb has written the music and lyrics for the world premiere musical Camp Kappawanna, to debut this summer at the Adrienne Arsht Center in Miami, Florida (June 17-27) followed by a run at Epstein Center for the Arts at Nova Southeastern University in Davie, Florida (July 1-3). Sean Paul Bryan will direct.

Featuring a book by playwright Marco Ramirez, the show was conceived by Stephanie Norman, the artistic director for City Theatre, which is presenting the musical. Loeb created the show’s music and lyrics along with collaborators Dan Petty and Michelle Lewis in celebration of her days at camp, where she first learned to play the guitar.

The cast will feature Melanie Leibner, Troy Davidson, Jameson Hammond, Tom Anello, Renata Eastlick, Mary Sansone and Gerardo Pelati.
