According to Brian Henson in an interview with Forbes, a stage musical adaptation of Jim Henson's 1986 film Labyrinth is in the works.

"We are working on a theatrical adaptation of the original movie for the stage," Henson told Forbes, in addition to noting that a sequel was also being developed. "We are working on both of those but I certainly don't have a timeline for them." When asked about the musical's Broadway possibilities, Henson responded, "Not necessarily Broadway, it could be for London's West End, but it will be a stage show, a big theatrical version."

Labyrinth, starring David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly, was a box-office flop upon its release in 1986, but has since become widely recognized as a children's classic. Fathom Events is bringing the film back to theaters for screenings across the US on April 29, May 1, and May 2.
