Julian Crouch and Fiasco Theater Take Part in New Victory LabWorks Program
The first-ever initiative will develop original works for young audiences.
The New Victory Theater has announced that Julian Crouch and Saskia Lane together with Parallel Exit and Shoehorn Theater Company will take part in the first-ever New Victory LabWorks initiative, an artists-in-residency program designed to develop original productions for young audiences.
Director/designer Crouch (Big Fish) will reunite with puppeteer and performer Lane after their collaboration on The Devil and Mister Punch to create a work featuring puppetry and live music, inspired by the images of albatrosses by photographer Chris Jordan. Parallel Exit, founded in 1997, will devise a new work mixing circus, dance, and physical comedy. The brand-new Shoehorn Theater Company will create a work geared toward children as young as six.
Additionally, New Victory LabWorks will host the final development phase of Fiasco Theater's upcoming production of Shakespeare's Measure for Measure, which will premiere at the New Victory this spring. The company reunites with the New Victory after its acclaimed production of Cymbeline.
