It has been officially announced that Hugh Jackman will be hosting the Tony Awards ceremony for the third consecutive year.

Jackman won a Tony for his critically acclaimed performance in The Boy From Oz last season. His other credits include the role of Curly in the 1998 London production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's Oklahoma! and major roles in such films as Van Helsing, X-Men, Kate & Leopold, and Swordfish.

The 2005 Tony Awards will be executive produced by Ricky Kirshner and Glenn Weiss of White Cherry Entertainment; Kirshner has worked on 12 of the past 13 Tony shows, while Weiss is now in his fifth year as director of the telecast. The awards have a new publicity firm this year in PMK/HBH. Although Jackman was named as the host of the 2005 Tonys last week in an e-mail blast from the ticket outlet Group Sales Box Office, PMK did not officially confirm that information until today.

The 59th annual Tony Awards will be telecast live from Radio City Music Hall by CBS on Sunday, June 5, from 8pm to 11pm EST. The Tonys are presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing.
