. ]]The 52nd Street Project announces HERE. ME. NOW.: The Present Plays'', the next show to be presented at the Project’s Five Angels Theater.

The piece is part of the One-on-One series, which takes a group of ten Project kids out of town to a country retreat for a week in the summer. Each child is assigned a playwright who is charged to write a musical specifically for that child. The shows are rehearsed over the course of the week and performed informally for the community in the retreat setting.

Created in Wareham, MA, HERE. ME. NOW. More Present Plays will have three performances at the Five Angels Theater from August 21-23. The actors slated to perform the show include Frankie Alvarez (star of HBO's Looking), George Babiak, Alyssa Cartwright, Molly Coogan, Dylan Dawson, Garret Kim, Emma Ramos, Rachel Rusch, Jude Sandy, and Charly Simpson.

The young playwrights are Sevan Asencio, Magalis Fabian, Rebecca Gomez, Ginaija Hires, Aramis Jimenez, Marlon Sebastian Lopez, Darby O'Donnell, Nicole Quiles, Daniel Tineo, and Ethan Zenteno. The adult writers are George Babiak, Jed Clarke, Molly Coogan, Dylan Dawson, Cynthia Kaplan, Garrett Kim, Kendell Pinkney, Erica Saleh, Charly Simpson, Jenny Rachel Weiner, and Composer/Music Director Eric March.

The 52nd Street Project pairs young people from Hell's Kitchen, a neighborhood in New York City, with theater professionals who mentor them through the creation of original plays. The mission of the group is to give children "an opportunity to prove that he or she has something of value to offer, something that comes from within that he or she alone possesses, something that cannot be taken away."
