David Strathairn to Star in Syfy’s New Alphas Drama

David Strathairn is set to star in Syfy’s new drama Alphas, according to a report on TVGuide.com.

The series will center on a group of ordinary people with exceptional mental abilities who are known as Alphas. Together, they solve cases that have proven to daunt such government agencies as the CIA and FBI. Strathairn will play Dr. Leigh Rosen, the Alphas’ eccentric leader who is willing to bend the rules for his objectives and the team.

Stathairn’s New York stage credits include Three Sisters, Dance of Death, Salome, Eyes for Consuela, The Winter’s Tale, and Conversations in Tusculum. He received an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of Edward R. Morrow in Good Night, and Good Luck.
