It's official! Danny Burstein, the five-time Tony Award nominee currently starring in Cabaret, will take on the coveted role of Tevye in Bartlett Sher's upcoming revival of the classic musical Fiddler on the Roof.

Produced by Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel, the revival will begin previews November 17, 2015, with rehearsals starting earlier that year. No Broadway house or further casting has yet been revealed. The production will be choreographed by Hofesh Shechter based on the original by Jerome Robbins.

This Fiddler marks the fourth collaboration between Burstein and Sher, a list that also includes South Pacific, Golden Boy, and Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown.

Based on the stories of Sholom Alecheim, Fiddler on the Roof features a book by Joseph Stein and a score by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick. It tells the tale of Tevye the milkman, who tries to hold on to "tradition" as the world around him and his family in the little village of Anatevka changes.

The original 1964 Broadway production won eight Tony Awards, including best musical, book, and score. It was last seen on Broadway in 2004, starring Alfred Molina as Tevye and Randy Graff as Golde, with Harvey Fierstein, Andrea Martin, and Rosie O'Donnell eventually taking over the roles.
