Curtin, Gleason, Sarandon Set for Westport's Selected Shorts logo
Jane Curtin
Jane Curtin, Joanna Gleason, and Chris Sarandon will read three works of short fiction in Selected Shorts, a live version of the renowned NPR show, to take place at 7:30pm at the Westport Country Playhouse. The event will be recorded for a future NPR broadcast.

Curtin will read Rebecca Curtis' Twenty Grand, about a daughter's views of her parents' hopes and dreams -- and one crucial dispute at a toll booth. She has starred on Broadway in Our Town and Candida and is best known for her TV work on Third Rock from the Sun, Saturday Night Live, and Kate and Allie, for which she won the Emmy Award.

Gleason will read Nadine Gordimer's The First Sense about a cellist and a flautist who share a life of music. Gleason won the Tony Award for Into the Woods and has also appeared on Broadway in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, I Love My Wife, and Joe Egg.

Sarandon, who is married to Gleason, will read Etgar Keret's Crazy Glue about a woman who tries to glue her home life together. His Broadway credits include The Light in the Piazza, The Rothschilds, and Nick and Nora, which also co-starred Gleason.

Tickets are $15-$25 and can be ordered by calling 203-222-7070.
