Craving for Travel to Make Its World Premiere at Peter Jay Sharp Theater

Real-life travel agent Jim Strong commissioned Greg Edwards and Andy Sandberg to write the play.

The new play Craving for Travel, written by Greg Edwards and Andy Sandberg and commissioned by real-life travel agent Jim Strong, will have its world premiere on January 9, 2014, at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater. The play is scheduled to run through February 9.

Strong sought out Edwards and Sandberg to write about the travel industry in their own voice and shed light on the role of the modern travel agent. The result was Craving for Travel, a play about rival travel agents (and former spouses) Gary and Joanne, who vie for their industry's most prestigious honor: the Globel Prize. With their reputations on the line, they'll tackle any request, no matter how impossible, and any client, no matter how unreasonable.

The creative team includes Charlie Corcoran (set design), Jeff Croiter (lighting design), Michael McDonald (costume design), as well as Bart Fasbender and Dave Sanderson (sound design). Pamela Edington is the production stage manager, and Andrew Jones is the general manager. Sandberg directs. The cast will be announced at a later date.
