Billy Porter, Andrew Rannells, and More Are Added to the Broadway Backwards Lineup

Seven more Broadway performers have been added to the star-studded cast of the 2014 Broadway Backwards Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS benefit performance.

Now performing in the March 24 concert at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre will be Tony Award nominee Michael Berresse (A Chorus Line), Tony winner Beth Leavel (The Drowsy Chaperone), Tony winner Debra Monk (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof), Ken Page (Ain't Misbehavin'), Tony winner Billy Porter (Kinky Boots), Tony nominee Andrew Rannells (The Book of Mormon, HBO's Girls), and Tony nominee John Tartaglia (Avenue Q). Also set to perform are the men of the hit web series Submissions Only, including cocreator Andrew Keenan-Bolger (Newsies), Stephen Bienskie (Cats), Colin Hanlon (Rent, ABC's Modern Family), and Max von Essen (Evita).

These Broadway veterans join the previously announced lineup of performers, which includes Bryan Batt (La Cage aux Folles, AMC's Mad Men), Stephanie J. Block (The Mystery of Edwin Drood), Len Cariou (Sweeney Todd, CBS' Blue Bloods), Robin De Jesús (La Cage aux Folles), Jonathan Groff (Spring Awakening, HBO's Looking), Cass Morgan (The Bridges of Madison County), Patricia Morison (The King and I), Krysta Rodriguez (First Date, NBC's Smash), and Tony Yazbeck (Encores!'s Little Me). Judy Kuhn (Fun Home) and Jessie Mueller (Beautiful — The Carole King Musical), who were also previously announced, will no longer perform in the concert.

Broadway Backwards creator Robert Bartley will direct and choreograph, with additional choreography by Amy Jones and Melissa Rae. Mary-Mitchell Campbell will serve as music supervisor with Tim Rosser as music director.
