Alice Ripley and Bob Stillman to Play the Lincolns in Paula Vogel’s Civil War Christmas

Next to Normal Tony Award-winner Alice Ripley and Dirty Blonde Tony nominee Bob Stillman will play Mary Todd and Abraham Lincoln in the New York Theater Workshop‘s production of Paula Vogel’s A Civil War Christmas. The production is set to run under the direction of Tina Landau from November 13 to December 30, with an opening on December 4.

Set on Christmas Eve, 1864 the work weaves together the personal stories of historical figures and fictional characters, holiday spirituals and Christmas carols, as the divided nation struggles for peace.

The company will also feature De’adre Aziza, Sumaya Bouhbal, K. Todd Freeman, Chris Henry, Rachel Spencer Hewitt, Antwayn Hopper, Jonathan-David, Karen Kandel, and Sean Allan Krill.

The production will feature scenic design by James Schuette, costume design by Toni Leslie James, lighting design by Scott Zielinski, sound design by Jill BC Du Boff, music supervision/arrangements by Daryl Waters, and musical direction by Andrew Resnick.
