Opening night guests included de’Adre Aziza, Trae Harris, Tonya Pinkins, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Liev Schreiber, Liesl Tommy, and Gail Merrifield Papp, widow of Public founder Joseph Papp.
The show follows a young man named Gil (played by Domingo) who plans to scatter his mother’s ashes in the place where she was the most happy. The cast includes Sharon Washington, Korey Jackson, and Maurice McRae.
Domingo received a Drama Desk nomination and a GLAAD Award for his solo work, A Boy and his Soul, and a Tony Award nomination for his role in the Broadway production of The Scottsboro Boys. He also appeared at the Public and on Broadway in Passing Strange.
