WorkShop Theater Company Benefit Set for November 3

The WorkShop Theater Company, a not-for-profit group dedicated to developing the work of new playwrights, will hold its third annual benefit on Monday, November 3 at the Lucille Lortel Theater (121 Christopher Street).

Directed by Darren R. Cohen and titled Where It All Begins: A Tribute to Off-Broadway, the event will feature a number of stars performing songs from musicals that have had Off-Broadway runs. Among those scheduled to appear are Steven Brinberg (Simply Barbra), Semina DeLaurentis (Nunsense), George Dvorsky and Sally Mayes (Pete & Keely), Alison Fraser (In Trousers), Rita Gardner (The Fantasticks), David Garrison (I Do! I Do!), Malcolm Gets (A New Brain), Dody Goodman (Parade), Marni Nixon (Taking My Turn, Gerrianne Raphael (The Threepenny Opera), Richard Roland (The Cocoanuts), Amy Spanger (tick, tick…BOOM!), John Tartaglia (Avenue Q), and Karen Ziemba (And the World Goes Round).
