Robert De Niro-Helmed A Bronx Tale Musical Announces Complete Casting

The complete cast and creative team has been announced for the world-premiere musical adaptation of A Bronx Tale at Paper Mill Playhouse. Performances are set to run from February 4-March 6, 2016, with an official February 14 opening.

Based on Chazz Palminteri's acclaimed one-man show and subsequent 1993 film, A Bronx Tale is set against the backdrop of racial strife and organized crime in the 1960s as an Italian-American teenager must choose between the father who raised him and the mob-boss father figure who fascinates him. The production features a book by Palminteri, music by Tony and Oscar winner Alan Menken, lyrics by Glenn Slater, choreography by Sergio Trujillo, and codirection by four-time Tony winner Jerry Zaks and Oscar winner Robert De Niro, who directed and starred in the original film.

Leading the company are Jason Gotay (Bring It On) as Calogero, Joshua Colley (Les Misérables) as Young Calogero, Tony nominee Nick Cordero (Bullets Over Broadway) as Sonny, Richard H. Blake (Jersey Boys) as Lorenzo, Coco Jones (Let It Shine) as Jane, and Lucia Giannetta (Les Misérables) as Rosina.

Rounding out the ensemble are Gilbert L. Bailey II, Joe Barbara, Michael Barra, Isaiah Tyrelle Boyd, Jonathan Brody, Ted Brunetti, Eean Sherrod Cochran, Philip Colgan, Brittany Conigatti, Kaleigh Cronin, Kim Dodson, Trista Dollison, Vincenzo Faruolo, David Michael Garry, Aisha Jackson, Jess LeProtto, Carlos Lopez, Corey Mosello, Dominic Nolfi, Paul Savlatoriello, Christie Schwartzman, Joey Sorge, Kirstin Tucker, and Keith White.

The creative team will include scenic design by Beowulf Boritt, costume design by William Ivey Long, sound design by Gareth Owen, hair and wig design by Paul Huntley, fight coordination by Robert Westley, music supervision and vocal/dance arrangements by Ron Melrose, music direction by Jonathan Smith, and orchestrations by Doug Besterman.
