Julia Murney, Lauren Molina, and More to Star in Assassins
Complete casting is announced for Yale Rep production of Sondheim's historical musical.
Yale Repertory Theatre has announced the complete cast and creative team for its upcoming production of Stephen Sondheim and John Weidman's Assassins, directed by James Bundy. Performances are set to run March 17-April 8 at the University Theatre with an official March 23 opening.
Assassins tells the story of nine men and women who attempted to assassinate presidents of the United States. The revue-style piece of historical fiction musically reflects each of the eras depicted. The musical premiered off-Broadway at Playwrights Horizons in 1990 and made is Broadway debut in 2004, winning Best Revival of a Musical.
The Yale Rep cast will feature Stanley Bahorek (Giuseppe Zangara), Stephen DeRosa (Charles Guiteau), Lucas Dixon (John Hinckley), Austin Durant (Proprietor), Dylan Frederick (Balladeer), P.J. Griffith (Leon Czolgosz), Richard R. Henry (Samuel Byck), Fred Inkley (Bystander), Courtney Jamison (Bystander), Jay Aubrey Jones (Bystander), Robert Lenzi (John Wilkes Booth), Lauren Molina (Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme), Julia Murney (Sara Jane Moore), Brian Ray Norris (Bystander), Sana "Prince" Sarr (Bystander), and Liz Wisan (Bystander).
