Peter Pan is getting an update. NETworks Presentations has announced a new national tour of the musical, which is set to premiere at St. Paul's Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in December 2023 ahead of a national tour in 2024 at Baltimore's Hippodrome.

Based on James M. Barrie's tale about a magical boy who never grows up and does battle with Captain Hook in Neverland, Peter Pan first opened on Broadway in 1954. It was originally directed, choreographed and adapted by Jerome Robbins and features a score by Morris (Moose) Charlap, lyrics by Carolyn Leigh, additional lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green, and additional music by Jule Styne.

Lonny Price, who helmed the 2017 revival of Sunset Boulevard, will direct this new production. It will feature additional book material by Larissa FastHorse, author of The Thanksgiving Play, which TheaterMania's review described as "by far the funniest satire yet written about the 'woke' warriors sleepwalking through American society."

"I am thrilled to be part of bringing Peter Pan to life for a new generation," said FastHorse in a press statement. "If you loved this musical before, you will still see the show that enchanted you, while discovering a Peter Pan that everyone can enjoy, without harm, for many years to come."

The full creative and design team and cast will be announced at a later date.
