Chloë Bailey, Woody Harrelson, Olivia Colman to Star in Girl From the North Country Film
The Tony-nominated Girl from the North Country is heading to the big screen.
Conor McPherson musical, nominated for WhatsOnStage Awards, Olivier Awards (winning two) and Tony Awards, is set in 1934 in Duluth, Minnesota during the Great Depression. It features the music of Bob Dylan, with songs including "Forever Young," "All Along The Watchtower," "Hurricane," "Slow Train Coming," "Make You Feel My Love," and "Like A Rolling Stone."
Like the stage production, McPherson will direct, with a cast cast set to include Chloë Bailey as Marianne, Tosin Cole as Joe, Olivia Colman as Elizabeth, and Woody Harrelson as Nick. Release dates and further plans for the film are to be revealed.
Girl From the North Country premiered on Broadway in 2020. That production was also professionally filmed featuring the 2022 cast at the Belasco Theatre. No release plan has been announced for that, either.
