David Esbjornson’s production of Alfred Uhry’s Pulitzer-Prize winning drama, Driving Miss Daisy, starring Tony Award winners James Earl Jones, Vanessa Redgrave, and Boyd Gaines will play Wyndham’s Theatre in London, September 25-December 17.
The play focuses on the relationship between Daisy Werthan, a 72-year-old Jewish widow living in mid-century Atlanta, and Hoke, her African-American chauffeur. The film version later won the Academy Award for Best Picture, which also earned Uhry an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
The production will feature sets by John Lee Beatty, costumes by Jane Greenwood, lighting by Peter Kaczorowski , music by Mark Bennett ,and sound by Christopher Cronin.
