Helen Hobson to Re-Join West End Production of Mamma Mia!

Helen Hobson will return to the role of Donna Sheridan in the West End production of Mamma Mia! beginning on September 24. The production is directed by Phyllida Lloyd and choreographed by Anthony Van Laast.

As previously reported, the musical, which currently runs at the Prince of Wales Theatre, will move to London’s Novello Theater beginning September 6.


Written by Catherine Johnson, with music and lyrics by Benny Andersson & Björn Ulvaeus, Mamma Mia! tells a tale of a single woman in Greece whose only daughter is getting married, set to the songs of the legendary band ABBA.

Hobson, will join Joanna Monro (Rosie), Kim Ismay (Tanya), Gary Milner (Sam Carmichael), Neil Roberts (Harry Bright), James Gaddas (Bill Austin), Charlotte Wakefield (Sophie Sheridan), Andreas Gyllander (Sky), Abiola Ogunbiyi (Ali), Tasha Taylor Johnson (Lisa), Steven Oliver (Pepper), and Liam Doyle (Eddie). At certain performances, the role of Donna Sheridan is played by Claire Poyzer.
