Ghostlight Records announced it will release the original London cast recording of Working on Friday, March 2, following a successful run at Southwark Playhouse last summer. Not only will this be the first recording of the Stephen Schwartz musical since its original Broadway cast recording back in 1978, but this new album will feature never-before-released tracks by Lin-Manuel Miranda. (Customers who preorder the album on iTunes and Amazon will immediately receive the track "It's an Art.")

Schwartz's musical is based on the book by Studs Terkel, which contains interviews with ordinary American workers. The musical takes the audience through an average day from the perspective of these workers. The piece is adapted by Schwartz and Nina Faso, with songs by Schwartz, Craig Carnelia, Micki Grant, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Mary Rodgers, Susan Birkenhead, and James Taylor.

The cast featured Gillian Bevan, Dean Chisnall, Krysten Cummings, Siubhan Harrison, Peter Polycarpou and Liam Tamne, as well as Patrick Coulter, Nicola Espallardo, Izuka Hoyle, Luke Latchman, Huon Mackley and Kerri Norville.
