Alfie Boe, Mark Rylance, Kevin Spacey, et al. Named to The Stage 100

The U.K. magazine The Stage has announced the winners of the annual The Stage 100 Awards, which recognize outstanding theater organizations in six categories.

The Bush Theatre has earned the honor of London Theater of the Year and Jermyn Street Theatre in London has been named the Fringe Theatre of the Year. In addition, the Regional Theatre of the Year is Chichester Festival Theatre while The National Theatre has been named Producer of the Year. Other honors have gone to the Musical Theatre Academy, named School of the Year, and to Edwin Shaw, Heather Miller and Frances Coyle, who have each won the inaugural Unsung Hero Award.

The prizes have been announced in conjunction with The Stage 100, the paper’s yearly analysis of the most influential movers and shakers in the industry. Among the names on this year’s list are Ambassador Theatre Group executives Howard Panter and Rosemary Squire; actors Kevin Spacey, Simon Russell Beale, Alfie Boe, Bertie Carvel, James Corden, Benedict Cumberbatch, Anne-Marie Duff, Derek Jacobi, Mark Rylance, Sheridan Smith, Kristin Scott Thomas, Imelda Staunton, Michael Sheen, and Dominic West; composers Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Minchin; playwrights Alan Ayckbourn, Mike Bartlett, Richard Bean, Alecky Blythe / Adam Cork, Lee Hall, Grant Olding, and Mark-Anthony Turnage; and songwriters George Stiles and Anthony Drewe.

Also on the list are directors Rob Ashford, Cora Bissett, Michael Boyd, Danny Boyle, Howard Davies, Rupert Goold, Michael Grandage, Peter Hall, Nicholas Hytner, David Lan, Mike Leigh, Jamie Lloyd, Trevor Nunn, Thea Sharrock, Max Stafford-Clark, and Matthew Warchus; and producers Judy Craymer, Sonia Friedman, Bill Kenwright, Cameron Mackintosh, and Sam Mendes, among others.
